Hi all ,
i am new to domino and i am not able to make the standalone application to work.

this is my setup.
-----------------
i am trying to access a remote domino server from a java application.
the code fails when i try a open a connection using createsession method of
the NotesFactory class.

Session s = NotesFactory.createSession("172.20.2.1","USR_DOMINO","abcdedfg");

remote Domino's DIIOP server is running and I have NCSOW.jar set in my classpath.

NOTE : I am running this from Eclipse 2.1.
my JDK version is 1.3 and Domino version is 5

even after setting all these i am getting an error.
the stack trace is :

Error : 4489: NAME
lotus.domino.NotesException
at lotus.domino.NotesExceptionHelper.read(NotesExceptionHelper.java)
at lotus.domino.corba._IObjectServerStub.createSession(_IObjectServerStub.java)
at lotus.domino.cso.Session.OREFtoSession(Session.java:819)
at lotus.domino.cso.Session.<init>(Session.java:73)
at lotus.domino.cso.Session.createSession(Session.java:41)
at lotus.domino.NotesFactory.createSession(NotesFactory.java:67)
at Example1.run(Example1.java:10)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:512)

DO I NEED TO HAVE DOMINIO CLIENT INSTALLED WHERE MY JAVA IS RUNNING?.
any help is appreciated.
