hi all,
its me again...smilie i want to know how do i scale only a part of a canvas3D... the part being bounded by a 2D rectangle drawn on the canvas... smilie am actually writing a zoom tool for a 3D canvas wherein the user selects a portion on the 3D canvas using a rubber band rectangle.. and tht part gets scaled...

The short answer is you cannot. smilie

You'd have to do some trickery with rendering the Canvas3D into an image, applying the image to a Quad and then dynamically updating the texture image on the Quad as the Quad moves over the Canvas3D. The RasterTest example might be a good place to start...

It would be a very cool effect however!
