Tom,
I must congratulate you on the book. It is excellent. I am having a problem
with chapter 8. On p.164, step 6, I get an Illegal data type error when I try
to declare a variable of type "u_el_html_format" named "lnv_hf". Do you know
why this is? I get the same error on compiling the source code which I
downloaded. Any ideas? Thank you.

Thank you Yannick. I used the u_html_format object fron the IT example to get
around this. I'll look at 7.6.2 in more detail.
I am also having a problem with df_process_product_form. I have scripted as
per the book but i am still having problems. E.g., Clicking the Cancel button
on my browser doesn't bring me back to the product list it just hangs there
telling me "Connect: Host localhost contacted. Waiting for reply..." Any ideas
why this is? Also, if I add an entry and fill in the fields the same thing
happens but on stopping the browser and reloading df_select_product, my new
product is in the product list? I am leaving out something along the way?
Thank you.

It sounds like the extension pbl is not in your library list (library search
path). Check on your application object to make sure that the web.pb
extension layer (it should be called webpbe.pbl) is in the application. The
steps to set that up properly are in 7.6.2 (p.142). If this is not your
problem, then post again.

Paul,

The "Cancel" button cause acb_action to be set to "Cancel" and
df_process_product_form uses the f_RedirectClient() function which is
notoriously "iffy". What browser are you using?

Another thing that might be going on is an endless loop most probably cause
because the ii_count inst var is not getting incremented and
df_process_product_form never returns a blob and web.pb never stops invoking
it...
