I can't speak for this exact instance of the problem, but most commonly it is caused by 1 of 2 things:

1) The bean name is mis-spelled and the names don't match
2) The forward goes directly to the JSP, bypassing the action (or controller in a Model 2 app) that places it in the collection.

I don't think this is a flaw somehow in Struts -- it has worked thousands of times. Everytime I've debugged this error for someone in a class, it has been a case of developer error.

Thanks Guys.. I was able to fix the problem smilie [No exactly, but at least i now know How the flow is here in struts]
