In the Online Resources section on page xxx, you mention downloading "some
quick start build files that you can use in your own projects". Would these
quick start build files be in the antbook-src.zip? If so where in the zip
file should I look? If not in that zip file then could you post the URL.

Thanks In Advance,

Craig

Craig,

Any of the build.xml files in our source code .zip file would be a good
starting point, but an even
cleaner one exists here: http://www.ehatchersolutions.com/JavaDevWithAnt

Also, have a look at any of the Jakarta projects - they typically have pretty
decent build.xml files. I
just refactored the jakarta-lucene one so its in good shape.

My little tool might help Craig, it is called 'megg' and will quickly generate
an ant build file, along the lines of the example in chapter 8, but with the
correct package/class names for your project...

You can download megg binary from sourceforge at
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/megg/megg_0_0_4.jar?download

to run, just type "java -jar megg.jar"

let me know how you get on...

Jez,

Thanks for your Megg plug here! I just dug into Velocity a lot deeper and
revisited Megg in order
to add it to my presentations on Velocity. Quite cool! I hyped it
substantially to a room full of Java
developers this weekend, in fact smilie
