I've installed ADONETPRogramming using defaults. I've installed a fresh and
only instance of MSDE2000 using mixed mode. No Service Pack applied. The
LoadSQLServer.exe utility will not function. The error message is indicated
below.

Apparently the data structure in the ADONETSampleAcess.mdb is the exact same
as we would be using with MSDE2000. I suppose it would not be that painful to
re-create the data structure via MSDE but to tell you the truth after nearly a
year of begging and then having to threaten Manning and act like an @ just to
have them honor their contract to send me a copy of your book after I already
provided services rendered as a reviewer for another title gone bad I hoped I
would at least have gotten lucky enough to get a clean install. Ha.

Hope I get something useful from the rest of your efforts...

Sorry about your issues with Manning, although, of course, I have nothing to
do with that.

Not sure what is causing your problem. When you run the installation tool, do
you have the integrated security option turned on? Can you connect to the
database using other tools?

Worst case, I can send you a databse backup file that you can install. . .

to load the sample database without using utility program?

I can put together a backup file of the sample database that can just be
restored. I'm not sure is MSDE has a way of importing one though. . .
