nevermind, I'm dumb. All I had to do was to add a reference to
System.Runtime.Remoting.dll

Hi Fergal and folks,

Like everyone else, I'd like to congradulate you on your book. Having read
through two .NET books already I didn't think I had it in me to do a third
one. But sure enough, I read it cover to cover, and found it very useful.

I have compiler error that I hope you may have encountered. This particular
line

using System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Http;

is causing me problems. It seems that the compiler can't find anything within
the Channels namespace. The compiler error is as follows.

error CS0234: The type or namespace name 'Http' does not exist in the class or
namespace 'System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels' (are you missing an assembly
reference?)

Would you know off hand what the problem is? Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: namespace problem, error CS0234
zhuge, i seem to be getting a similiar error message:

ERROR: CS0234: The type or namespace name 'SqlServer' does not exist in the class or namespace 'Microsoft' (are you missing an assembly reference?)

After reading your post to Alan i am assuming that i need to do some kind of referencing, but I am new to this and so do not know how to go about it.

Please could you advise.

Regards
