This page: https://www.manning.com/source-code says that unless stated otherwise in the "About this book" section, accompanying source code is copyrighted.

Some of this book's accompanying source code demonstrates how to write useful constructs such as lazy_val, make_memoized and so on. Would it be possible to license the source code such that we can either use or build upon these constructs in our own code?

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Yes, the license should be a permissive one - I'll probably make it a BSD three-clause license.
