Hi Tony,

Is there a Java equivalent to the Lotusscript "Extended class" syntax

eg t = lastDoc.GetItemValue( "Topic" )
t = lastDoc.Topic

How can I set and check item values on a document?

Thanks
Tony

I apologize for the delay, but I overlooked your posting.

No, there is no equivalent. The appropriate method should be used on the
Document object ...

doc.getItemValueString("fieldname")

or

doc.getItemValueDouble ..... and so forth.

Tony.
