Re: Standalone Applications - failures

As you mentioned, in one of the earliest threads, I even tried to make a copy
of nlsxbe.dll as lsxbe.dll in the C:Notes directory. This too fails.

Thanks in advance

Interestingly enough, once I copied the *.class files to the C:Notes dir,
I was able to successfully execute the programs.... Apparently, the env
variable I was expecting to work (LD_LIBRARY_PATH) isn't used by Windows.

Tony:
I just found this book last night, and have been anxiously trying to get the
standalong applications to run, without success. For some reason, I keep
getting errors, similar to those mentioned in other threads. However, I have
not yet been able to solve my problem.

What I am trying to do is to have a Standalone application access a local DB
and process the data found therein. Unfortunately, even the tiniest application
failes to execute. For example:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
import lotus.domino.*;

public class Example_0 {
public static void main( java.lang.String[] args ) {
NotesThread.sinitThread();
try {
} catch ( Exception e ) {
e.printStackTrace();
} finally {
NotesThread.stermThread();
}
}
}
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Csmilieomino Development with Java>java Example_0
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no nlsxbe in shared library path
at java.lang.Runtime.loadLibrary(Compiled Code)
at java.lang.System.loadLibrary(System.java:561)
at lotus.domino.NotesThread.load(NotesThread.java:322)
at lotus.domino.NotesThread.checkLoaded(NotesThread.java:341)
at lotus.domino.NotesThread.sinitThread(NotesThread.java:170)
at Example_0.main(Example_0.java:5)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This indicates that the sinitThread() call failed because it couldn't find
the referenced DLL. However, I looked for nlsxbe.dll, and found it in
C:Notes, which I made sure exists in my LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable.
Unfortunately, this maked no difference.

Any suggestions?

Interesting solution, because I have been unable to rectify the problem on a
5.08 machine.
