there are a number of problems with EX 28.1

apart from the obvious two occurences of:

"Document doc = ac.getDocumentContext();"

the variables field, field1, field2....field6 were not
defined. i have been digging into the LCJava classes
to figure out what they should be defined as. (later, i found that
these fields need to be changed to the real field names that they
correspond with. but there are still problems with getting this example
to compile and run correctly).

db2 v6.1 is running on my machine so i could play with
jdbc and lcjava connectors. i've noticed that i have
to prefix table names with the machine name (ie.
'erehnke.org' instead of just 'org') to get things
working in either the built-in db2 CLP front end or
the jdbctest tool that i got from sun.

i still haven't got example 26.5 working properly as
it says that it can't find the jdbc domino driver even
though i have been able to access db2 via a standalone
java/jdbc example program (JDBCTest Tool) that i found somewhere else.

Example 26.5
Could not load Domino driver.

i'm sure in the case of ex 26.5 that i must not have
the jdbc driver in the proper location or something althour

anyway, just wanted to let you know about ex 28.1 and 26.5

I apologize for the delay, I've been on holiday. Thanks for the information
and email. Chapter 28 was written before LCJava was ready for primetime, so I
apologize for the glaring errors.

no apologies necessary.....when can we expect to get the corrected routines?

Hmmm, there isn't any plans to update the chapter. The code was based on
pre-release Lotus software. The LCJava download from the Lotus site includes
some nice examples.
