Hey Dave, this is aaron from the "other" forum. You suggested we move the
discussion about your book to this forum. Anyways, like I was saying, I am
attempting to create a searchable database using Perl. You suggested your
book and I was wondering, since you claim it to be an anti-CGI book, can this
book still help with creating a searchable database on a website ??

Well, it can certainly help with a large part of your project. It's got some
stuff about accessing databases, but most importantly for you, there's a lot
of stuff about dealing with data in memory - choosing data structures,
manipulating data (sorting, transforming and filtering). It concentrates on
outputs to data files, but most of the code and techniques could easily be
converted to be used on a web page - it's just a case of rewriting the output
routines.

There are a couple of sample chapters on this web page. Why not take a look at
them and see how useful you find them.

Cheers,

Dave...
