I'd be _very_ surprised if Perl isn't already installed on you Linux box. What
happens if you type 'perl -v' at the command line?

If you don't already have Perl, or you want to get a newer version, then you
should go to www.perl.com and download the latest version from there. The file
is called stable.tar.gz.

You'll need to unzip it

gunzip stable.tar.gz

and untar it

tar xvf stable.tar

You'll then find a large number of files. One of them is called something like
INSTALL - that contains your further instructions.
