i created shapes with lighting and appearance and added that to the live
scene. it worked. i showed the scene and then added other shapes. now all
shapes added are white. i was wondering if you knew anything off hand. i am
still experimenting to see if this is a problem with the stripifier that i am
using.

steps:

*create a java.awt.Polygon with 20 points
*turn into list of verticies at some 3d location and -50 scale of the pixel
coordinaes.
*stripfy to get geometryarray
*transform the points
*set the geometry using the points
*set an equivalent appearance object as previous in the pre scene entry objects.
*they are white! i set the color in the appearance...they are still white.

Nothing comes to mind. Have you checked www.j3d.org and the java3d mail list
and archives? Another place to look is Selman's j3d book.

Good luck,
