I noticed that while cookies are mentioned in chapter 14 for authentication, i somehow seem to miss anything about sessions.
Since i am not that far into the book (chapter 6), i don't know if this is planned or not. A quick search did not reveal anything about sessions.
But i assume that this will be handled by a middleware which attaches a session to the HttpRequest, where data can then be stored for later requests.
Still, it would be nice to know if there is some explanation/further detail planned for those two points.

Thanks

Apologies, I somehow managed to miss this question! I actually don't deal with session state directly in the book. I have an introductory post (it deals with ASP.NET Core 1.0, but it's largely still applicable): https://andrewlock.net/an-introduction-to-session-storage-in-asp-net-core/. For a more comprehensive and up-to-date discussion I suggest checking out the docs: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/aspnet/core/fundamentals/app-state?view=aspnetcore-2.0&tabs=aspnetcore2x

Thanks!
