Consider the output of this command: % git commit -a -m "This is the second commit.".

Book output:
This is the second commit.
1 file changed, 1 insertion(+)

My own output:
This is the second commit.
1 file changed, 2 insertions(+), 1 deletion(-)

Why is my output different from that of the book ? Does git now consider addition of the 2nd line to the file as two operations instead of one ?

1) erase the 1st line, i.e. 1 deletion(-).

2) Insert the 1st line (back) & 2nd line, i.e. 2 insertions(+).
