I'm slowly make my way through the book (and by the way, it's exactly what I
need) and find that I'm having difficulty in putting together an elementary
scene for entering widgets, zooming into rectangle, panning etc..

I've looked hard and far for something which implements vsf, dfs etc., and
note your comments on the AppView overview

Any suggestions anyone?

Thanks

Although VSF and DSF might be one approach for zooming in on a scene, what is
typically done is to just move the camera closer to the LAP. Since the book
code didn't include much in the way of navigation support, I plan to include a
general purpose orbit camera in the 1.2 code update. It will have a way to
adjust the LFO (Look From Offset, in particular the distance from the LAP to
the LFP).
