Figures 4.4 and 4.6 have high values at the bottom-right rather than the top-right, as is standard.

Figures 4.10 - 4.18 and 4.20 have the y-axis on the right rather than the left, as is standard.

Are there any reasons for this? Surely it would be better to stick to the accepted layouts.

I'm not sure what you mean about accepted layouts. The initial examples are showing that the default projection in SVG is to place higher values from top to bottom, which is typically not what readers expect.

Virtually all published graphs have higher values at the top-right.
