I have an applet that uses a JTabbedPane. When the applet is on and when
the user opens another window on top of it and closes the window..the repainting
is not correct on the JTabbedPane..with all the uncovered tabs disappearing.
The rest of the applet is fine and if i minimize the applet and force a
repaint everything looks fine. Is there any way to force a repaint on
JTabbedPane..from the applet. Does my applet have to override the
paint(graphics) mehtod..????

Try calling revalidate() and repaint() sequentially on
your tabbed pane. If the problem occurs when other native
windows overlap the window with the tabbed pane, there
isn't much you can do to fix this situation. Rendering
problems due to dialog overlapping are known issues
with Swing that (I think) are supposed to be fixed in
1.3.
