I notice in your example, listing 8-2, in tabbedpane , page 2 , you use
Textarea instead of JTextarea, I found a problem I mentioned in the thread
listing 8-2. So, I replaced Textarea with JTextarea, I found that the problem
is gone. But new problem occurred, I added three JTextareas, only appear one
blank area without scrollbar. I know that JTextarea don't support scroolbar
instead you must add JTextarea into JScrollPane, if you want achieve the old
appearance. the code must be changed or you must mixed swing code with old AWT
component (that is not recommended in the swing application). So, what is your
suggestion?

Thanks.

Re: listing8-2, about TextArea

It is true that the problem was caused by mixing AWT with Swing.
It is also true that you need to add a JTextArea to a JScrollPane.

All of this will most likely be updated in the new edition
of Steve's book.
