In section 1.3.2 we first encounter the term combinator:

The next occurrence is close by:

Higher order functions like map are also known as combinators.

Can we have a definition of combinators when they are introduced?

Good point. I think I meant the definition as a footnote to the first occurrence. Will check with the publisher how it comes in the final version. Thanks for pointing it out ..
