As this book was written in 2012-2013, I'm wondering the extent to which the thinking in the book is still current? Have there been any trends that substantially impact the approaches in this book? For example, have there been browser developments, or the introduction of ES6, that facilitate improved approaches? Or can one digest this book and feel up-to-date? Thanks!

Hi, Mike Mikowski here.

I think the book is still quite relevant. We avoided the "framework-of-the-day" zoo and focused on architecture and roll-your-own. Even if you do use a "framework", you will still want to know this stuff.
