It's says:

In the production environment, the Rails server is configured to not serve static assets (such as JavaScript and images) itself. Instead, it relies on the host web server to serve the assets out of the public directory.


Can you please show some example how it would happen?

We don't cover that at any point during the book, because we only deal with either development (in which we use WEBrick) and production (in which we use Heroku, and not a manually configured server).

If you are using Apache or nginx in production, these should be configured to serve static assets, by setting your document root to your `public/` directory.
