I'm interested in Ionic, but am new to Angular. Does the book provide an introduction to Angular, or somehow walk people through the apps who aren't experts in the subject? Or do you need to come to this book with at least intermediate Angular experience?

The book does not require any Angular knowledge. Chapter 3 of the book is an Angular primer, which covers the must know things about Angular for building with Ionic.

The book does not try to replace the many existing Angular books, but it does try to provide just enough to get you through everything we do with Ionic. Down the road, Angular knowledge is important when trying to create larger scale and professional quality apps, so you will likely want to continue learning more Angular in the future to get the most out of your apps.
