after running the new Windows Installer from, python listings did not open, and the command python was unknown to the windows terminal (cmd.exe)!

Solution: Checking "PATH" I saw that the first address had been created by the installer to "C:\AppsCustom\Python27\Lib\site-packages\PyQt4;". No wonder! Changing the path in windows' global system settings to "C:\AppsCustom\Python27;", everything ran smoothly with HelloWorld smilie

Is this a specific problem of mine? If not, could the installer be changed?

P.S. I prefer python etc. to be custom installed into C:\AppsCustom and not into C:\. But this cannot be the problem, because, e.g., python3 and corresponding pygame install correctly into C:\AppsCustom\Python3
