This amount of frequency change(doubling) is called a “musical interval” of one “octave” up (for somewhat obscure reasons).

the obscure reason is that doubling the frequency from let's say 440 to 880 is going from A note to next A (12 semitones higher).
That 880 is exactly the 8th note above (ottava in italian means 8th), octave means also the interval of 8 notes comprising the boundaries (in this case A3 and A4)
