Hello,

Has anyone been able to use Logback with Mule (version 3) ? In page 200, this book said that it is an easy task by simply placing the appropriate SLF4J bridge in <HOME>/lib/user. In reality it does not seem that easy. My logback.xml is never read, and my app ended up using mule log4j default logging when I replace log4j.properties with logback.xml.

I have placed these files manually in /lib/user folder:
logback-classic-1.0.5.jar, logback-core-1.0.5.jar, log4j-over-slf4j-1.6.6.jar and slf4j-api-1.6.5.jar.

In /lib/boot/ folder, there is : log4j-1.2.16.jar

I have checked the internet, and could not find any suggestion on how to use logback in mule. I have not got the impression that it is possible at all.

Can anyone, especially the authors as well, help me? I would really appreciate that smilie

Re: Logging with Logback in Mule
Thanks.

It turns out the "USING A DIFFERENT LOGGER" section is actually not applicable in Mule 3 anymore, at least up to Mule 3.5. In other words, it's not possible to use another logger than Log4J.

Future versions of Mule (hopefully starting in 3.6) will have a completely reviewed logging support, which will allow greater flexibility.

Re: Logging with Logback in Mule
Thanks for your answer.

Which version of Log4J is supported by Mule now? I learned that Log4J 2 is out and supposed to have features for audit logging like Marker, etc. Has anyone tried this on Mule?

Thanks.

Has anyone tried this in Mule? Is that a good option to take?
