In the first sentence at the top of p. 4, viz.:

"Git is available on the three major environments: Windows, Mac and Unix."

I'm wondering in lieu of "environments" if it would be better to say "platforms" or even better "operating systems"?

Thank you for this suggestion. The sentence you pointed out is better with the word "platforms."

For the record: I used the word "environment" 12 times across the 13 chapters that I have written so far. (Not all the chapters are available in the MEAP yet.) I believe I made better use of that term in the other instances.

I'll make the fix on my side. When Manning makes a new PDF, it should be corrected.
