Again ubuntu 14.04

I had similiar problems previously but seemed to be able to work my way around them.

I'm going to create a huge virtual machine (16gb of ram and 8 cpus) ubuntu 12.04 and see how far I get with that.

+ die 137 'server didn'\''t become active!'

Re: Looks like Nova fails to start
Gary,

Within the next week or so I will switch to 14.04 and walk through the builds again.

Are you running this in a virtual environment or physical?

Re: Looks like Nova fails to start
Hi Cody,

I was using a physical machine (14.04), however it had already been mangled for multiple other purposes.

I've created large 12.04 VM (VirtualBox enabled the Vtx extensions) and with the other hacks that I've mentioned (PIP specifically) this is now working to the extent that I am able to run the devstack tests successfully.

I've been meaning to go through the rest of the chapters but my dayjob is getting the way (and paying my mortgage smilie

Once I'm comfortable with a virtual environment I will likely reinstall my physical box to try that out.

Re: Looks like Nova fails to start
Gary,

Great to hear. I expect I should add some basic instructions on how to get devstack working under VirutalBox.

Thanks for the info.

Re: Looks like Nova fails to start
Problems still exist with Ubuntu 14.04 and DevStack.

With any luck this will be resolved soon.

Thanks,
Cody
