I have been trying to follow your answers to the posts on StackOverflow as well as the Mule3.2.x documentation, but I am very confused regarding how I go about deploying a simple Mule flow (e.g. their "echo" or "hello" examples) to Tomcat 7.

First, is it possible to deploy to a "stock" Tomcat install, or do I need to follow the instructions here (http://www.mulesoft.org/documentation/display/current/Deploying+Mule+as+a+Service+to+Tomcat) to "add" Mule to the Tomcat instance?

On page 314 of your book, you explain the Mule service URI. I am having difficulty transforming the simple mule examples (e.g. their "echo" or "hello" examples) to servlet-based webapps that are available at a URI in this format.

Would it be possible for you to provide a simple (but complete) example for deploying a Mule flow to Tomcat 7? If not, can you provide any help here.

Thanks for writing the book it is very helpful. Sorry to have to ask this question, but the existing information on the subject is quite confusing.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Deploy Mule App (flow) to Tomcat as *.war
A stock Tomcat instance will work.

Look at this example from the first edition: https://github.com/ddossot/mule-in-action/tree/mule-3/chapter07/web-application

It's for Mule 2 but it works exactly the same with Mule 3.
