When I read the line 2 => viol.snc; I read 2 as some sort of magic number. I checked the documentation to read about it and I think it would be beneficial to the reader to give a brief overview of the options for sync:

(From the documentation):
.sync - ( int , READ/WRITE ) - (0) sync frequency to input, (1) sync phase to input, (2) fm synth

Re: sync paramater needs more explanation on page 127
Got it. It's a balance between not wanting to overwhelm
the beginner, and being complete (and truthful). One
immediate problem is that we might have to get into
what's "true FM" ("Frequency vs. Phase Modulation")
which is a pretty gnarly topic even for seasoned DSP experts.

I think I'll point the reader to the UG Appendix in this case.

THanks,

PRC

Yeah, the 2 looks magical.

Is it a sentry/flag value? Or a scalar/multiplier? It might help to briefly explain that.

I can relate - it's tricky to decide how much to explain, and how much to defer.
