Dear Mrs. Beer and Mr. Simmons,

I would like to know what the future plans are for the "App Inventor" development environment.

Is it going to be moved to a stand-alone application (even as an Eclipse pulg-in) or it is going to remain as a web-application?

Regards.

Re: Future for App Inventor
Hi Pedro

To our knowledge the plan is for App Inventor to go wholly web-based and remove the need for the download.

The clever people at MIT are hosting a summit meeting to discuss the future of App Inventor in July so there may be more announcements from this. http://appinventor.mit.edu/explore/2013-Summit.html

The best place for up-to-date information on MIT App Inventor is their own site, particularly the explore section (http://appinventor.mit.edu/explore/).

Best wishes

Paula

Recently I attended the AI2 summit, and although it is still in alpha stage with limited access, it promises several new features.
AI will contue to be supported
