Hi!

Trying to get the project up and running, in chapter 15.2 - an error occurs due to the fact that there is no web.xml yet ..... the structure I get is only a 'target'-directory after that.
Created a pom.xml and did run the 'mvn clean package' ( having maven version 3 )

Chapter 15.3.1 talks about the projects src-directory - there is no such structure here ....

So I gave up and did the -> http://wicket.apache.org/start/quickstart.html
That works from the start .... and then I opened up the project in Netbeans.

Is it possible to provide a more clearer maven start-up in the bonus chapter ?
Or am I missing something ?

Best regards, Inki

Re: Bonus chapter, confusing about Maven - not getting my structure as promised
Apologies for responding so late. This forum has not
been our focus for a while.

Hmm, my guess is that chapter 15 was written in a time
that Maven 3 did not exist and it is just outdated as hell.
This is one of the reasons why we didn't include it in the
book as a main chapter: it would not age very well.

This is the preferred way of starting a Wicket project.
I'll see if I can get a new post on our blog for starting
wicket projects.

You found the correct way of starting with Wicket. There
are currently no plans to make a new edition of Wicket in Action,
and as such chapter 15 will not be updated. I'll see if I can
provide a better link from the site to a new tutorial.

Thanks for taking the effort of getting in touch.
