It is very nice to have JPA Derby example,
but without MS SQL, Oracle even MySQL working examples this book
becomes useless.

Can you please provide MS SQL working example or a link for Aries+MSSQL
as soon as possible.

Thanks for your suggestion. We've tried to keep all the products used in our examples open source, so that they're accessible to everyone.

Having said that, one of the nice things about JPA is that it doesn't really matter what backing database you use. All you need is a datasource which can be looked up by JNDI. You can follow our instructions in chapter 3 for setting up the datasource, but use the class name for the MS SQL JDBC driver. You'll also need an OSGi bundle for the driver. You can wrap the driver jar using our instructions from chapter 12.
