This note seems to make a strong link between Javascript and (MAC) OS X.

I think this note is a BIG ERROR and I dare say it makes the all subject completely fails.

This book is about modern and attractive design guides to create great Web Applications. I think that server-side examples should be given using either JAVA technologies or .NET technologies or :
1°) use only pseudo-code and
2°) the HTTP output of your PHP code using tool like Fiddler.

As a .Net Developer I would just stop reading this book after this note.

Best regards

Re: About Chapter 1 (NOTE WHY PHP)
Honestly, the server side components of the book are far and few between. I think we have maybe 2 or 3 examples total. When I wrote that passage, I expected there would be more.
