The Spitter application accompanied with the Spring in action 3 book cannot be deployed by (new) learners of Spring.

It has to be first troubleshooted configured and then only deployed, which is only possible by experienced Spring programmers.

People said Spring is easy and I bought this book, but after fighting with Spitter, I found Spring is HELL.

A very good alternative to Spring is CDI and Seam3 and here is FREE documentation:
http://docs.jboss.org/weld/reference/1.0.0/en-US/html/
http://seamframework.org/Seam3/APIAndReferenceDocumentation

The above are definitely better than Spring because they are not as hard as Spitter and they are stateful.
