I installed the cljr per instructions on page xxix and the cljr crashes if you type just "cljr<enter>" in a Command Prompt window. It doesn't crash if you type "cljr help<enter>" or if you use an older jdk (it worked for me for jdk 1.6.0_16 (per my JAVA_HOME setting)). I have Windows Vista: build 6002, service pack 2.

Also, why is it downloading Clojure 1.2.0-beta1 ?

I've read only a bit of the book so far, skipping around a bit, and my impression is that you've done a really really good job presenting the material and making it interesting. Thanks muchly!!!

Re: cljr crashes with jdk1.6.0_24
From my Windows 7 pc with jdk 1.6.0_23 running "java -jar cljr-installer.jar" gave me a REPL window running Clojure 1.2.0 after only a few seconds smilie

From my netbook running Ubuntu and jdk 1.6.0_23 the same command resulted in some huge installation procedure creating a .cljr directory. Subsequently running cljr takes an absolute age - far far longer than the difference in performance of the two machines - and runs Clojure 1.2.0-beta1
