Chapter 8 covers, amongst others, validation. There is a reference to the spring modules project, which is basically dead. Not sure if it is wise to reference a unmaintained project/classes.

Although I don't know what to reference as a replacement.

you have a point: there's no much activity around the Spring Modules project, but the validation integration with Spring Batch is there and does work out of the box smilie

BTW, your comment makes me think we could add a sample of a custom Spring Validator using Bean Validation (JSR 303). Using the validation standard makes sense and it would show how to integrate an existing validation framework with Spring Batch.

quick update on this post: we kept the Spring Modules sample (even if the project is dormant.), and we added a sample with a Spring Batch validator based on Bean Validation (JSR 303.)
