Section 8.3 on Highlighting Query Terms

The Scorer component of the highlighter has references to SpanScorer. I suppose, you are referring to org.apache.lucene.search.highlight.SpanScorer.

But in 3.0, there is no org.apache.lucene.search.highlight.SpanScorer. Only Spanscorer is in org.apache.lucene.search.spans.

I think, the org.apache.lucene.search.highlight.SpanScorer in pre-3.0 is org.apache.lucene.search.highlight.QueryScorer.

I might be wrong since I have just started with highlighting extension of lucene.

Re: Highlighter has references to SpanScorer
Thanks -- this has been fixed for the production manuscript (after the last MEAP was shipped). You're right, SpanScorer was renamed to QueryScorer (and, made the default scorer).
