Bonjour !

I bought "PostGIS in action" yesterday, quickly went through it and finally started to read the first chapters carefully.

I am very satisfied with the content of the book BUT I found it difficult to read because of the poor typesetting. The document doesn't feel like a book, but like a MSWord document.

First thing would be to enable auto-hyphenation : http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/HP052290961033.aspx
This would reduce the ugly looking variable spaces in "justify" text align mode.

I guess you could also make the verbatim blocks a bit more readable.

Keep up the good work !

Re: On typography and hyphenation
Jerome,

Glad you like the content so far. The document will go thru subsequent passes by the typesetting folks, editors and our illustrator. So I think the final product will feel more like book. Since its in draft mode, we are focusing on content and correctness of the information. The subsequent passes once all the chapters are done will go thru grammar, spell check, figure quality and typesetting.
