I am reading on chapter 10 Database programming with Groovy.

I am using the windows platform.

Say, I have a database file in "c:filesxams.mdb" which is generated by Microsoft Access. How can I open this database file in groovy?

would that be the following?

import groovy.sql.Sql

db = Sql.newInstance("jdbc:odbc:file:///c:/files/xams.mdb")

Re: How to open the MS Access database file?
Hi Lixi,

the issue is better posted to the Groovy mailinglist as it is of general interest.

But in principle, you have to define an odbc data source through windows tools and point your jdbc:odbc url to that source. You cannot directly refer to an mdb file.
