I entered listing 8.5 into the Groovy console and it almost worked, but the resulting timezone was PST (my local tz), not CET, as specified in the listing. Setting "user.timezone" seemed to have no effect (I tried with "GMT" also).

I'm using Groovy 1.6RC1 with JDK 1.6.0_11 on *gasp* Windows 2000.

As all of the example code is executed before printing, I assume the test was run in the CET timezone (wherever that is), or there's something wonky about my JDK/Groovy/OS combination.
