I've run the simple authentication example from the test client, and looking at the servicemix trace I'm guessing it works even though the test client doesn't actually do anything.

Point two is the authorization bit on page 306. You put a nice snippet from a config file out there and state that it can easily be included in one of the config files out there, but you are maximally vague about which one it's supposed to go into. Probably not the jbi.xml I can guess, but which xbean.xml file? Or maybe another xml file, because the rule doesn't seem a natural match for either xbean.xml file in the example.

Perhaps it might be good to give a higher-level overview of which config files go where in a servicemix deployment (like in an appendix) or just be specific when you write things like this. I know when I write documentation and cookbooks I have to be a little paranoid about what the reader knows and doesn't know when he reads the stuff, or it will either bedevil my days with endless questions or be hard to use, having to experiment a lot to make things work.
