Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to build a wizard in wicket that also supports the back button. I checked http://cwiki.apache.org/WICKET/building-wizard-functionality.html but the source code is no longer there and I'm worried it might be old. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Jason

Re: examples of Wizard and working back button
The best thing you can do is look at the wizard example in wicket-examples.

Re: examples of Wizard and working back button
Hi,

I checked those out but you'll notice in the examples if you're on step 3 and you hit the browser back button it takes you to step 1 confusing users. Is there an example where the wizard works as expected with the browser back button?

Thanks, Jason

Did you try http://wicketstuff.org/wicket13/wizard/ ? The back button works perfectly here.

Re: examples of Wizard and working back button
I tried http://wicketstuff.org/wicket13/wizard/?wicket:interface=:0:staticWizardWithPanelsLink::ILinkListener::

and then I click on the "Next" button twice and get to the third panel. Now I hit the back button *in my browser* and it takes me to step 1 and not step 2. Does this happen for you?

Thanks again, Jason

Nope, Like I said it works for me: I get back to step 2.

Ok very weird!

I'm on Mac OS X and I see that if I use Safari it actually works as expected but not in Firefox... can you think of any reason this might be?

Thanks, Jason

Re: examples of Wizard and working back button
Hi guys,

I'd like to take a stab at debugging this issue but don't know where to start in the wicket classes. Have you been able to verify that the browser back button doesn't work with the wizard (at least on Mac OS X) under Firefox but it does work in Safari? I also verified this does not work on Windows with IE either. I have been using the static wizard with plain text steps example here for testing http://www.wicket-library.com/wicket-examples/wizard/

Thanks, Jason
