Hello,

a while ago, I posted a message explaining that my son has cancer and that it's hard for me to combine a day job, taking care of my son AND answering questions for free.

I explained multiple times that this forum is not the most popular communication channel to talk about iText. We have a very active mailing list where many developers answer your questions, whereas on this forum, I am the only one answering questions.

If you are in need of an answer, PLEASE USE THE MAILING LIST.
See http://www.1t3xt.com/about/contact.php for more info.

TIA,
Bruno

Re: PLEASE STOP USING THIS FORUM!
Hello Bruno,
I'm new to using iText and have purchased the book "iText in Action". In one of the introductory chapters, it directs us to this forum.

The very first message I noticed was this one. It took me a bit off guard... I want to say that I am very sad to hear about your son. My family has dealt with serious illnesses, including cancer as well, so I understand how difficult it can be on the whole family. My sincere wishes go to you and your family while you deal with this difficult situation.

Thank you for posting the link to the mailing list. That's where I will be sure to send my questions. Maybe Manning could set up an automatic redirect from the forum to the mailing list and close the forum from new posts.

Kind regards and best wishes for your family,
Jayson

Re: PLEASE STOP USING THIS FORUM!
I'm posting a reply to this question so that it's on top of the list again.
WHY ARE THERE STILL PEOPLE WHO DON'T READ THIS POST???
Also: DON'T EVER USE THE WORD URGENT IN YOUR QUESTIONS!!!
Using the word 'URGENT' is VERY OFFENDING and RUDE!!!

Re: PLEASE STOP USING THIS FORUM!
Hi Bruno.

Thanks for all your support these days. Your inputs are very helpful.
From now on any doubts we will move to the mailing list.

My prayers are there for your son to get well soon.

Take Care of your family.

Thanks.

Re: PLEASE STOP USING THIS FORUM!
In spite of the request to NO LONGER USE THIS FORUM, somebody posted another question here, causing this WARNING to move to the second place in the list of questions. In order to get it on the first place again WHERE EVERYBODY CAN SEE IT (except a minority of people who post questions without reading the titles of already existing posts), I need to reply to this post.

And yet another one.
Why do people go on posting questions on a forum where the topic ON TOP OF THE FORUM says: PLEASE STOP USING THIS FORUM! ???

Re: PLEASE STOP USING THIS FORUM!
Even when this post is on top of the list, people are still using this forum.
Isn't that crazy?

Re: PLEASE STOP USING THIS FORUM!
Maybe you could send a quick note to the people in charge at Manning?

I tried sending an email to 'mkt@manning.com' who I've been in contact with before, so we'll see if that does anything.

Hopefully they could lock the forum so that new posts cannot be made, but older posts are still visible. There is a lot of good information in older posts.

Re: PLEASE STOP USING THIS FORUM!
what a worthless page. found this on google while searching for something else. TAKE THE FORUM DOWN IF YOU DON'T WANT PEOPLE TO USE IT. ITS A PRETTY SIMPLE CONCEPT.

Re: PLEASE STOP USING THIS FORUM!
Hey worthless guy, if I could remove this forum, I would.
But I can't.
As a result, only stupid people keep on posting questions here.
That makes at least two of us smilie
