did anyone know how to embedding an ai file in pdf?

I am using iText to create a pdf file, and i would like to import few images which format is .ai. but i cannot find the way to import the .ai into it. did anyone can help me?

No, ai is an vector graphic format.
You have to export the ai file in an image format.
Or save it as pdf and import this.
Or export it as SVG and use Apache batik for conversion and import (there is an example in the book => Chapter 12).
