Hi

I am trying to implement custom security in RS 2005, and I would like to have CheckAccess() tell me WHICH OBJECT (example: Report Name) a user is trying to get to...So I can do a database lookup and determine whether they are allowed to do that....

CheckAccess() gives us information on who is accessing, but not name
of the item or report.

Please let me know how to figure out what actual report/object a
security descriptor is pointing to?

I searched for this in your book, but no clue so far.... could you please help me out?...

Thanks in advance

Re: Custom security and security descriptors -- CheckAccess() options
Has anyone worked out how to find the object being accessed?

As Vinay said, CheckAccess() gives us information on who is accessing, but not name of the item or report.
