The ZK wiki has an example applicationContext.xml recommending that people use the POJOs In Action example source code as best practice:
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/ZK/How-Tos#Struts_.2B_Tiles_.2B_JSP_.28.2B_Spring.29
ZK is a pure server side Java runtime that translates XUL user interface markup in the Servlet tier into dynamic XHTML for the browser. ZK javascript functions then dispatches the UI updates events over AJAX into the server tier. You can then subclass its Components to override their onChange to call into your POJO session facade so it is a quite interesting front end technology to be recommending POJOs In Action. The post above talks only about a toe in the water with ZK XUL and explicitly talks about Struts and Tiles so it covers regular J2EE web presentation such as Struts and Tiles talking to a POJO Session Facade. Enjoy!
