I'm trying to do the book examples (the file with "runtime" is missing) but I'm not getting the plots like in the book.
In the marathon example the plot expands the boxes where there are no data (like after point 138, and after point 189).
The dlacluster example gives um plot completely different than in the book.
I tried in gnuplot 4.2, 4.4 (in ubuntu) and with 4.4 in windows.

What is wrong?

Re: Plots are not the same as in book
In regards to the "Marathon" example, you need to set the following option BEFORE the plot command:
set boxwidth 1
(This is not shown explicitly in the text.)

For the "DLA" example, there is indeed a typo in the text. The correct columns are 2 and 3, so that the command is:
plot "cluster" using 2:3 with dots

Sorry about the confusion.

Re: Plots are not the same as in book
Yes, now I can plot dlacluster like in the book. I don't know what happened to my gnuplot but when I plot the marathon chart again (before doing the set boxwidth) the plot was generated like in the book, but I don't know what I did meanwhile. But was nice to know about that option.
